A fall front porch is my absolute favorite. There’s just something about adding pumpkins to a porch or stoop that make my heart happy. Not to mention, my planters are still looking pretty good this late into October so they’ve added lots of great texture here. I did have to up the spooky factor a bit this year since my son insisted, so I caved and got this skeleton that we’ve been having some fun with (he’s gone from our sofa, to the peacock chair, then to the door!). This is the first holiday that he’s been genuinely interested in and it’s made it so much fun! I’m just hoping he doesn’t hold onto Halloween into Christmas ;D
This year I went the route of less traditional colors with these pink/purple toned mums and grey/turquoise pumpkins. This particular variety of heirloom pumpkin is called a Jarrahdale, if you happen to be searching for them. For the porch planter, I added birch branches and wired on some decorative crows that gave it a subtle Halloween look. A few other small touches and we are so ready for fall and Halloween!
