Decorating a front porch or stoop for Fall may be one of my favorite seasonal things to do. To keep it simple, start with some mums and ornamental grasses and add in some pumpkins to add that welcoming touch to your home. I especially love getting the white pumpkins for my steps. I also used some dried hydrangea in my urns to fill in some blank spaces.

If you want to add a little more something, something and find out why I’m in ALL pink, keep reading to see where I got my decorations and what I was up to!

I was wearing pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, and I wanted to remind you ladies that early detection is so important. Do your self exams, get your mammograms, and please take it seriously. Cancer is no laughing matter, so please remember comments like “save the tata’s” are insensitive to those going through this ordeal.

Recently, the Destefino Beauty Bar held an “Awareness is Beautiful” blogger event with speakers from the Susan G. Komen organization. They were also kind enough to offer us blow outs and this photos happens to be right after getting my hair done. If I could get a blow out once a week, trust me, I would! My hair and curls looked amazing. The beauty bar is located in the Southside Works, so you can get a blow out, go shopping and grab some lunch while you’re there!

White Pumpkins and Mums

Although you can’t appreciate it in these photos, I love stringing a couple orange lights to brighten up the earlier sunsets around here. Also, if you are interested in incorporating some ornamental grasses to your decor, buy and plant some purple fountain grass in the spring and you will really get to appreciate them in the fall! I tend to take out the summer flowers but keep and vines in place. You could also add some kale to your planters if you have the room. Another tip, when buying your mums choose ones that haven’t bloomed yet, they will last longer!

Fall Front Porch Decorating

So lets go over this Fall formula. Add mums, ornamental grasses, pumpkins, lanterns and an awesome wreath and you are guaranteed to have quite the festive and head turning home entrance! And what’s even better, once Halloween is done, just remove those elements and you are good for Thanksgiving!
