Layered Doormats: Get the Look | Zoë With Love

Something you may have seen over the last year or so is the trend of layering your doormat over a flat weave rug. I’m not sure who should be credited as the first person to showcase the layered doormat, but whoever it was started a trend that everyone should give a try. The rug underneath frames the doormat and adds texture to your entry, making it more of a statement area. I jumped on this design bandwagon last year and love the look of my layered doormat so much!

I wanted to find even more options besides the buffalo check one that I have (and love, btw) and came up with five more combination options below. There are so many ways to style the layered doormat, like option 2 which is more minimal and modern, to option 5 that is a more glam take on the trend. You can even mix and match different ones to change up the look when you feel like it!

One tip, if you happen to have plants around I’d consider moving them when you give them a heavy soaking. This is not completely necessary, but for me I tend to move these mums to the steps to water them when I know there will be a lot of run off because I don’t want my rug to get soaked.
