Navy Floral and Frills for Fall

I’m never one to wish away summer, in fact I’m happily soaking up every last bit of it while I can. I always say that I’d love to live somewhere warm and without winters. Right now, just the thought of my toddler starting his first time at preschool and the winter months creeping up is enough to give me anxiety. Inevitably the cooler mornings and nights have arrived and so my thoughts have been shifting to fall. Don’t get me wrong, I have the fondest memories of absorbing every page of September issues, dressing in layers, and all the fun fall activities in general. If anything, fall clothes may be my absolute favorite. I think it’s the dread of what’s to come after fall that keeps me holding onto summer a little bit tighter.

All of this aside, if you’ve looked at any of your favorite stores lately you’re sure to have noticed all the fall pieces that are out. Take Modcloth for example, they have a fantastic autumn selection with everything from chunky cardigans to adorable midi dresses. I couldn’t help myself but pick up some fall pieces to wear alongside some of my favorite summer accessories. Great together or worn separately with basics, each of these 3 pieces are great items for late summer into fall. This skirt is probably one of the twirliest I’ve ever had and the floral print against the dark navy feels like a grown up version of a basic floral. The tie front top is perfect worn with a navy bralette and jeans or layered with this cropped ruffle jacket, and the jacket is great with a pair of skinny jeans and a tee.
