I know I said it before, but Target is such a lifesaver for shopping. Once you’re a new mom and you get your first taste of a solo Target date, it’s like a shopping sanctuary. But seriously, even when you’re shopping with kids it’s still my favorite. I mean, where else can you grab a cute dress (this floral one was a favorite), home decor accents, birthday presents, etc. and get cleaning products all in one place? I spotted these Scotch-Brite™ 50% Stickier Lint Rollers and had to give them a try. With the holidays here, I was inspired to share some of my best quick cleaning tips with you today!
People tend to see my home photos on instagram and always ask me how I’m keeping it so clean. Truth be told my house gets messy a lot because we use our space so much. We just got our Christmas tree and busted out all the holiday decorations. But before hanging everything up I had to give our living room a quick clean. Read on for my quick cleaning tips with Scotch Brite!

- Clean your upholstered furniture with Scotch Brite’s large lint roller. These are so big (8 inches to be exact, which is about double the normal size) plus comfortable to hold when cleaning something that is larger scale like a sofa or chair. The best part is they are so sticky and the paper is heavy duty. I think I cleaned my entire sofa without changing the paper in about a minute! I can’t even begin to tell you how handy these are if you have pets or kids. For instance, my son ate a cookie on our chairs the other day and got huge crumbs everywhere. This lint roller cleared off all the crumbs without having to bust out the vacuum!
- Lint roll your pillows. I’ve used this little trick for a long time. Using the small Scotch Brite lint roller for your pillows and cushions is a fast and easy way to clean any debris that may be lurking. It saves me having to wash pillows as often and keeps throw pillows without removable covers in good shape. Plus, there were pine needles and glitter all over the pillows from bringing our tree in and getting our decorations out, this picked that mess right up.
- Clean clutter off your coffee table and other surfaces. No matter how clean my house might be, if there is clutter it’s visually messy! I know I didn’t picture it here, but clearing off a cluttered coffee table makes a huge difference. This is especially important when you’re bringing out even more items like decorations or having company over. My favorite place to store clutter (for us it’s mainly toys) is in a pretty basket with a throw blanket draped over top. It’s easy access and out of sight!
- Fluff your pillows. I picked up this pillow fluffing method from watching Downton Abbey (omg, I miss that show!). You literally throw your pillow onto the floor so it regains its symmetry then pick it up and fluff it. Can you see how much fuller this one looks in my hand than the one that is on the couch?? Can you also spot the little elf that is fishing in the Christmas tree? 😉
