Tips for Creating an Easy Christmas Tablescape

Zoe With Love shares her best tips for creating an easy Christmas tablescape that is easy on the budget but still beautiful and festive.

It’s been awhile since I’ve shared a tablescape here on Zoë With Love. What better time than the week of Christmas to share a little brunch dining inspiration with all of you!

What I envisioned when creating this tablescape was to put together something quick and simple that’s still beautiful and festive. Below, I’m sharing my tips for creating an easy Christmas tablescape that is also budget friendly. And if you haven’t seen it yet, check out my tips for a Christmas mimosa bar, here!

A sparkly table runner. I went with a champagne colored sequined runner that I got at a steal. Sometimes I prefer the wood of our table to show through, plus a runner is much more budget friendly than a tablecloth.

Gold charger dishes dress up the table with little to no effort. I like adding simple white plates for a clean crisp look for brunch, but a patterned plate would look great for a more dressed up occasion like dinner.

Use what you have on hand to create place settings. Fresh greenery absolutely pops against a white dish. I snipped clippings from outside boxwood and lavender bushes to create these mini wreaths (you can find exactly how I made them in this tutorial) and used scraps of white gift wrap and a sharpie to handwrite guests names.

Gather ornaments together in your vases. I had two of the same vases and in lieu of flowers (shocker, I know) decided to fill them with extra ornaments that were on hand. These added a lovely sparkle to the table. Using a variety of sizes and finishes is what makes this work. You can find all the ornaments I used below.

Use food as your centerpiece. Since I knew that Kim was bringing over some really cute Christmas cookies, I decided to use them as the focal piece (who doesn’t love Christmas cookies?!). I had this domed cake stand that makes for a great presentation. The macarons are from Costco and I scooped them up because the colors were so perfect with this tablescape!

Use pine clippings to accentuate dishes. I literally cut pieces off my Christmas tree and laid them underneath and around serving dishes to dress things up a bit. If you don’t have a real tree in your house, you could cut some from a pine tree outside. I love filling the house with greenery this time of year and if you are lucky enough to have the right plants and trees, take advantage!

Hope my tips for creating an easy Christmas tablescape come in handy for you this week! Now, I just have to talk a little about my outfit for this Christmas brunch.

The velvet trend right now in fashion and home decor has me swooning. I went with a pretty mauve velvet shirtdress and a bow in my hair for a feminine and festive look. Literally, I couldn’t pass up on this gorgeous colored dress. If you get this make sure you order a size down because it does run large (it also just so happens to be on sale right now!) This dress actually reminds me of the mauve pillows in my living room that I am totally obsessed with. I wore a black bow in my hair that I purchased, but you could just as easily use a quality black ribbon and tie one yourself as another option.
