Guest Bedroom Essentials with Serena & Lily

Guest Bedroom Essentials: tips on creating a comfortable retreat your guests will love | Zoë With Love

For some time now I’ve been wanting to try out terracotta colored linens, and I was so excited when I got the chance to work with Serena & Lily to create this guest bedroom space! It was the perfect opportunity to update a room using this on trend color, and once I saw the Northside shams and the Northside coverlet , with it’s beautiful textured stripes and tassel details, I knew it was the perfect way to incorporate a bit of terracotta into my home. The Positano linen sheet set and Positano linen duvet cover, both in ivory (linen sheets are a dream if you haven’t tried them, by the way!) are the ultimate complement to the fabric on the shams and coverlet, and the texture of the Amelie pillow adds just the right touch to finish dressing the bed.

If you aren’t familiar with Serena & Lily, they are a high end home brand that carries everything you may need for your home including linens, furniture, lighting, rugs and art. If you are in the market to get guest ready for the holidays, Serena & Lily is currently having their ‘Sleep Well’ Event, with up to 30% off all bedding and beds!

When creating a guest bedroom space, don’t let being short on space hold you back! Whether it’s a shared room, a small extra bedroom or a nook, you can still make a big impact with the right materials! Luxurious bedding, added storage, and decor accents that will make the space feel bigger are key to transform the space. If you’ve ever stayed at a bed and breakfast, think about what made the room feel comfortable and relaxing and try to emulate that for your guests!

If you don’t have much closet or storage space, consider adding a garment rack in a nook. It will create a functional station that can hold towels, purses, clothes and shoes and you can even dress it up with a bit of greenery. This one is stocked with two sets of Serena & Lily bath towels in ivory, and hangers ready to go. It’s especially nice to have when you don’t have a guest bathroom and want to provide guest with their own towels.

Adding mirrors like this gorgeous teak floor length one I used here on the side of the bed adds needed height and interest since there is no headboard in this space, plus it helps visually anchor that side of the bed. Not only is the mirror really convenient to have for dressing, it reflects even more light and makes the space feel bigger. I layered a small side table (my pink one is discontinued, but I love this one!) in front of the mirror with simple accessories, a candle and a vase of dried wheat. Adding small touches like fresh towels and a simple vase of flowers (fresh or dried) are small elements that make a big difference!

I definitely will be moving all of this beautiful bedding over to our guest bedroom at the new place once it’s finished! We have a four poster bed (similar to this one) that I am so looking forward to styling and may add this open weave light fixture to flank the bed as it is a great addition to this bedding.
