White and Eucalyptus Floral Arrangement

White and Eucalyptus Floral Arrangement

Over the weekend we had the baby’s baptism and celebrated with a dinner reception after the service for which I made these white and eucalyptus floral arrangements. First I have to say that the little guy was such a trooper, Greek Orthodox services can be long and he really only became upset during the water portion. Baptism services tend to make me nervous because you don’t know how your baby will react until you are in the midst of the one hour service! I’ve heard stories of little babes crying the entire time so I’m thankful we got through it relatively fine.

After the service we held a dinner for family at one of our favorite restaurants from back home. I made these floral arrangements the night before in my moms basement and was really happy with how they turned out. I made sure to grab a few photos of them to share. Whenever I’m planning a dinner or small gathering like this, my two major takeaways are 1. have really good food and 2. have well put together flowers. That’s really it, and if you are able to do the flowers yourself I say go for it! I’ve learned over the years that if you focus on making those two details really special then people will remember the event and be happy!

I made 6 total wooden box centerpieces (find the boxes here) with the white and eucalyptus floral that were each a bit unique and had just enough extra floral to make one tall vase. Below I labeled each flower if you’d like to create an arrangement like this yourself or so you can know exactly what flowers to ask the florist to use.

White goes so beautifully for a baptism for either gender, for my first borns I used these same boxes (I really like these boxes because you can use one piece of floral foam without having to cut it at all) with tightly arranged white roses and white manzanita branches. I wanted to make something completely different this time around so chose plants with lots of texture, like the varying types of eucalyptus and multiple white flowers. I want a more organic yet streamlined look for the flowers versus a romantic feminine look, so tulips and anemone were used, whereas for a girl a better choice could be something like garden roses and peonies.

Love this! This arrangement looks just like my wedding bouquet. The anemones really pop and make the arrangement standout!
